Australia is one of the world’s great destinations for tailor-made travel, combining vibrant cities, extraordinary landscapes and a huge variety of experiences within one trip. From Sydney and the Great Barrier Reef to Uluru, Kangaroo Island and Margaret River, journeys here can take in everything from island stays and coastal road trips to vineyards, wildlife and remote luxury lodges.
Many holidays begin in Sydney before heading north to Hamilton Island or the reef for sailing, snorkelling and time on the water, while inland, Uluru offers a completely different atmosphere, with dramatic desert landscapes and lodges such as Longitude 131°. South Australia combines vineyards, wildlife and rugged coastline, while Western Australia works particularly well for longer touring itineraries taking in Margaret River, Ningaloo Reef and the Indian Ocean coast.
Australia is also ideal for active holidays, whether that means surfing, hiking, sailing or snorkelling, with plenty of opportunities to combine several regions within one itinerary.
We work with a carefully chosen collection of hotels, lodges and island retreats across the country and can tailor everything from a straightforward two-centre stay to a longer multi-stop itinerary.
Australia’s seasons are opposite to those in Europe, making it particularly popular during the UK winter months. Because of the country’s size, climate varies considerably between regions, from tropical conditions in the north to cooler, more seasonal weather further south.
Northern Australia, including the Great Barrier Reef and Tropical North Queensland, is warm year round, with the dry season between May and October generally offering sunshine, lower humidity and comfortable temperatures.
Southern Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, has more distinct seasons, with warm summers and cooler winters. The Red Centre, including Uluru, is usually best visited between April and October, when temperatures are more comfortable for exploring.
Australia can be travelled year round, but the best time to visit often depends on which regions you are combining within your itinerary.
