Preidlhof sits in beautiful area of South Tyrol, where the mountains of the Dolomites meet a surprisingly Mediterranean climate. It’s already known as one of Europe’s more serious wellness hotels, and this year it’s added something new: the Glowing Flow Retreat, a healing programme aimed less at relaxing the body and more at working through what the heart has been holding onto.
The retreat was created by Stefano Battaglia, a master therapist and meditation teacher who was named Wellness Practitioner of the Year 2025 by Destination Deluxe, working alongside wellness pioneer Patrizia Bortolin. Stefano’s method, which he calls Trauma Touch Skills, combines hands-on bodywork with mindfulness and meditation, developed over years of practice.
The focus isn’t purely physical though. Sessions draw on gentle touch, breathwork, shamanic-inspired meditation, Vipassana, and water healing massage, aimed at loosening long-held tension so guests can reconnect with a calmer, more joyful version of themselves.
It’s only offered at Preidlhof, and will be taking place this October – as you may expect, places are limited.
The full programme is a 7-night immersive retreat, and it’s fairly intense. It tends to suit people going through something significant, whether that’s a major life change, grief, burnout, or just a long period of feeling cut off from themselves. Because the work is introspective, it’s better suited to people travelling alone, or at least comfortable spending stretches of time on their own.
It also works well for people looking for a deeper connection to themselves and others, anyone dealing with chronic stress or loneliness, and beginners wanting to start a meditation practice.
There’s also a lighter version called GF2, for couples, friends, or families with older teens (16+). This blends select Glowing Flow sessions with more conventional spa time. Booking requires a short assessment beforehand, and every guest gets a private 50-minute session with Stefano afterwards, either to talk through the experience or for a guided meditation. A lot of the work happens in the gaps between sessions. Guests are asked to protect time for silence and simplicity rather than filling every hour, and Preidlhof backs this up structurally: it’s certified as a Quiet Place by Quiet Parks International.
That doesn’t mean there’s nothing else to do. The resort has yoga, e-biking, guided hikes, a six-floor sauna tower with sixteen different sauna and steam rooms, and fourteen pools. A few experiences, like forest bathing with the resort’s in-house guide and sound healing sessions, are kept exclusively for retreat guests so they don’t clash with the pace of the programme.
Meals are built around seasonal ingredients, and guests who want it can sleep outside on a private balcony bed under the stars, with the comforts of a normal room still nearby.
