I recently stayed at the fantastic Lefay Lake Garda, a wellness resort that promises relaxation, rejuvenation, and an immersive Italian escape. It’s known for its blend of sustainable luxury and relaxing surroundings, drawing in guests in search of peace, high-quality service, and an exclusive getaway experience.
The highlight of our stay had to be the spa, where both my husband, Ross, and I treated ourselves to some pretty special massages. I chose the hot stone massage, which definitely helped remove any residual traces of stress, while Ross opted for the Emperor’s Massage—a full-body experience that left him feeling totally recharged. Lefay’s spa menu is impressive with a blend of Chinese and Western treatments on offer, you can view the current options here. (Correct as of October 2024).
The hotel has both indoor and outdoor pools, as well as whirlpools where we spent several blissful hours. We ventured to the adults-only pool area briefly, but a heads-up: Lefay’s saunas are traditionally European, meaning they’re nudist by design!
Each morning, we enjoyed fresh and plentiful breakfasts at La Limonaia, it offers Italian and continental options, there’s something for everyone. In the evenings, we dined at the Lounge Bar which offers classic Italian dishes and comfort foods—Ross was particularly fond of the lasagna and had it two nights in a row! The Lounge Bar also serves burgers, pasta, and Caesar salads, perfect for a casual meal.
For those interested in exploring outside of the resort, you can take advantage of the hotel’s shuttle service to reach local restaurants. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Ristorante La Mingla; the food was incredible!.
The hotel’s shuttle service runs hourly between 10:30am and 7:00 pm, it’s free during these hours but after 7:00pm, there’s a charge of €50 per room each way. If you’re planning to go out for dinner, I’d suggest taking the last free shuttle down and paying for the return trip. Lake Garda has no Uber or taxi service, so the hotel shuttle is you best choice.
Getting around Lake Garda itself is simple, thanks to the boat services that connect the lakeside towns. We took a scenic trip up to Limone, a picturesque village to the north with gorgeous views and quaint streets, and we highly recommend it for anyone wanting to explore more of this beautiful area.
We stayed in a Prestige Suite which was spacious, featuring a lovely outdoor terrace with sun loungers overlooking the lake—a perfect spot for morning coffee or sunset views.
Overall, Lefay Lake Garda seems especially well-suited for couples looking for a quiet, romantic retreat. While we did see a few families with younger children, but tranquil atmosphere and emphasis on wellness make it a natural choice for adults and couples.
