We’ve long been fans of Lily of the Valley in the French Riviera – it’s a consistently excellent wellness option that we’ve have recommended to many clients. So we were delighted to hear the brand is heading to the mountains: Lily of the Valley Courchevel 2000 is scheduled to open in December 2027, and it’s shaping up to be one really unique wellness and active holiday option.
Here’s everything we know so far.
The hotel is being built in Courchevel 2000, right at the Altiport – the high-altitude mountain airstrip that’s been a fixture of Courchevel’s story since the early 1960s. Before roads reached this part of the mountain, the only way in was by air, and a pioneering Pilatus aircraft was the plane that proved it could be done. Mountain guide Michel Ziegler later marked out the runway itself, at over 2,000 metres, and it’s stayed a working part of Courchevel life ever since, including a starring role at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics.
The site was, until now, home to Le Pilatus, a much-loved chalet restaurant at the foot of the runway. Lily of the Valley’s founders, Alain and Lucie Weill, have chosen to build here rather than start somewhere blank, which, for a brand that puts so much care into a sense of place, feels very true to form.
For us, that’s a big part of the appeal. It’s a hotel with genuine heritage, and that usually translates into a more grounded, less try-hard guest experience.

✧ Interiors and architecture by Philippe Starck, a long-time collaborator of the Weill family
✧ A wellness programme built on the same philosophy as the original hotel. This includes personalised plans, a broad range of sports and movement activities, and spa treatments designed around what your body actually needs, rather than fixed options.
That last point is what we’re most excited about. Lily of the Valley in Saint-Tropez has never treated wellness as a bolt-on spa menu — it’s built into the whole stay. We’d expect the same approach in Courchevel, just adapted for altitude and adrenaline: think recovery-focused treatments after a big day’s skiing, movement classes suited to mountain conditions, and personalised programmes rather than a one-size-fits-all schedule.
Based on what we know, we think this will appeal to:
✧ Couples and solo skiers who want serious skiing by day and serious recovery by night
✧ Wellness travellers who already love the Saint-Tropez property and want a winter equivalent
✧ Anyone drawn to small, design-led hotels – with only 30 suites, this will offer a peaceful and private stay
December 2027 is the target opening, bookings are not yet open but we’ll update this blog when that changes.
