The United Arab Emirates, abbreviated as the UAE, or shortened to “the Emirates”, is a state situated in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia on the Persian Gulf, bordering Oman and Saudi Arabia.
The UAE is a federation of seven emirates (equivalent to principalities), each governed by a hereditary emir, with a single national president. The constituent emirates are: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain. The capital is Abu Dhabi.

The UAE experiences hot weather all year around peaking in July and August when the temperature reaches above 40°C. The Spring and Autumn months are often the best time to visit when the temperatures are in high 20s/ low 30s and the sun is still shining. The coldest the UAE will get is in January and February with an average minimum temperature between 10 and 14 °C.
