It’s hard to believe that Morocco, being so exotic and different from anything in Europe, is so close and easily accessible. The people are warm, friendly and hospitable and there are numerous wonderful places to stay and visit. It’s a year round destination.
We have been organising holidays to Morocco since 2004 and it remains perennially popular, with many people visiting again and again. Our favourite city is Marrakech with its famous Medina (a UNESCO world heritage site) and many of our recommended places to stay and experiences to enjoy are focused in and around this delightful city. It also has easy access to the magnificent Atlas Mountains for guided hiking, mountain biking or just relaxing and enjoying the spectacular views. The mountains have some exceptional places to stay too, such as Sir Richard Branson’s luxury Kasbah Tamadot, from which you can visit Berber villages and soak up the culture of this proud nation. For those on more of a budget, try La Roseraie.
You can combine city and mountain experiences with a trip to the beach too. On the west coast, overlooking the Atlantic, we are featuring a selection of exceptional coastal riads, resorts and hotels in (from north to south) Oualidia, Essaouira, El Jadida and Agadir.
Morocco is one of the best short haul destinations for winter sun, and – depending on your interests – is definitely a year-round destination.

Morocco has a typical Mediterranean climate in the North enjoying long hot summers and short winters, temperatures can reach 40°C in the summer dropping off and into the high 20s in the Spring and Autumn. Winters can see temperatures dropping below freezing. The Atlas Mountains form a barrier between the North and South leaving the South very dry and extremely warm during the summer that can last several months. In summer months we would recommend staying along the coast where the sea breeze helps moderate the temperature.
