Family Holidays in Stockholm

There are a good choice of downtown hotel options but we think that the best option for families is Hotel J on Nacker Strand, 15 minutes from the city centre by ferry and enabling families to combine a country atmosphere with easy access to Stockholm.  If you would prefer to be more central and stay at a hotel with a tennis court and fitness facilities, plus complimentary bikes, we would recommend Hotel Skeppsholmen.

Just across the water from Hotel Skeppsholmen is the superb Grona Lund fun fair, the Abba Museum and the truly exceptional Vasa Museum housing a complete 17th century galleon.  These are just some of the attractions for families to enjoy.

Depending on the age of the children, you could head out to the islands (there are thousands dotted around Stockholm) in kayaks and camp over night on your very own deserted island or, if you wish to explore further afield, you could all board a skippered yacht and go sailing through the Stockholm archipelago.
