Amankora Thimphu is one of 5 luxury Aman lodges sprinkled across the region in central western Bhutan, and offers guests a sublime refuge after a day exploring the mystical delights and scenery of the area.
Most travellers to Bhutan who wish to experience the Kingdom within the resassuring embrace of Aman elect to enjoy a 5 to 10 day Bhutan Journey, incorporating a stop here in Thimphu. This “kora,” or circular journey of discovery, is a gateway to the world’s last Buddhist kingdom.
Set in the upper reaches of the Motithang area, the 16 Suite Lodge of Amankora Thimphu is close to the capital’s sights and shopping yet remains a secluded retreat. Guest Suites, combining a bedroom and lounge, feature a bukhari wood-burning stove and views across a landscaped courtyard or of a stream and pine forest.
All suites at Amankora Thimphu are huge, with all walls, floors and ceilings lined with warm wood panels. All of the 16 guest suites, combining a bedroom and lounge, feature a bukhari wood-burning stove and views across a landscaped courtyard or of a stream and pine forest.
Amankora Thimphu is around 90 minutes by car from Amankora Paro which, in tourn, is 15 minutes from Bhutan’s airport. Fly into Bhutan from Delhi, Bangkok or Singapore.
