Dar Ahlam (which translates to House of Dreams) is a traditional 19th-century kasbah that has been immaculately restored and enhanced by Thierry Teyssier, a Parisian party planner, and is situated in the luscious Skoura palm grove. This delightful, intimate hideaway has just 13 suites and 1 villa. If you can tear yourself away from the gorgeous gardens or the heated swimming pool – and we highly recommend that you do! – your adventures can start with a private guide, 4×4 and driver to explore the remarkable Dades valley.

Dar Ahlam does not allocate the suites in advance, but all are spacious, with air-conditioning, fireplaces, roomy bathrooms and a view of the Atlas Mountains. None has a TV or telephone (but there’s good mobile network coverage and free wifi). Each one has been decorated individually with unusual antiques and silk curtains. The four villas are built around a central patio, and feature a terrace with a fireplace and a private heated pool.
Baby cots and extra beds for under-16s can be added to every suite. Babysitting can be arranged and is available on a complimentary basis.
Most guests arrive via Marrakech’s Menara Airport. From Marrakech, it’s approx 240km / 3.5 hours drive or we can book you a domestic Royal Air Maroc flight to Ouarzazate Airport, which is 45 minutes from Dar Ahlam. Airport transfers from Ouarzazate are included in the rate.
