Surrounded by the soaring peaks of the Canadian Rockies, the luxurious Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise hotel is located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Banff National Park. Sitting on the edge of Lake Louise, the hotel provides unparalleled views of lake’s famed turquoise water and the majestic Victoria Glacier.
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is extravagant and ornate with grand interiors punctuated by columns, decorative archways, marble fireplaces, and chandeliers. Each room has a timeless feel to it, featuring sleek white and cream interiors contrasted with dark wooden furniture and leather upholstery.
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is an ideal place from which to explore the breathtaking Banff national park and all its natural splendour.
Naturally, Lake Louise being directly on your doorstep gives you easy access to a range of stimulating activities in any season. In warmer weather, you can rent a canoe from the nearby boathouse and paddle out towards the Victoria Glacier. While in the winter, you’ll experience the lake in an entirely different way as it freezes over and transforms into a massive ice rink on which tourists enjoy ice skating and sleigh rides.
Banff National Park is also home to some of the world’s most beautiful hiking trails, such as the Lake Agnes Tea House Trail, the Plain of Six Glaciers hike, and the Larch Valley Trail. During the winter months, meanwhile, you’ll have the opportunity to hang up your hiking boots and go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.
Similarly, if you’re into downhill skiing or snowboarding, you’re spoilt for choice, as Banff National Park is one of the world’s best skiing destinations. The hotel is close to both the Lake Louise and Sunshine Village ski resorts, with Mt Norquay also nearby.
Fairmont spa features eight treatment rooms, where you’ll be restored with massages, facials and the spa’s signature treatments, as well as a hair salon, and two nailcare stations. The hotel’s fitness and indoor aquatic centre contain a range of exercise machines and free weights, with a steam room and whirlpool for relaxing your muscles after a workout.
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise boasts four onsite restaurants: The Lakeview Lounge, overlooking Lake Louise and the Victoria glacier; the Mediterranean-inspired Louiza; Walliser Stube, with its famous cheese fondue; and the Fairview Bar and Restaurant.
The Fairmont Lake Louise has 539 rooms, including standard rooms (21 – 34m2), Gold rooms (20 – 51m2), and suites (39 – 65m2). Views of Lake Louise, the Chateau grounds, of the surrounding mountains are visible from every room.
