Nimmo Bay is a wilderness resort on the coast of British Colombia in western Canada. It is a family-owned retreat located within the Great Bear Rainforest. The resort provides guests with a tranquil escape on the untouched Canadian Pacific coast.
In appearance, Nimmo Bay takes the form of a small fishing village. Nestled between soaring conifers and lapping shoreline, it comprises a series of charming wood-built structures. The handful of luxurious guest cabins have interiors decorated in the west coast style. Natural materials predominate while taking nothing away from the impressive mountain, forest and ocean views framed by large picture windows.
Nimmo Bay is a destination for getting away from the rigours of modern life without saying goodbye to creature comforts. It combines extraordinary Canada wildlife encounters with excellent facilities. Guests can join a guide in search of grizzly and black bear sightings, or spot orca from the water. More pro-active adventures include disappearing into the wilds to flyfish in rivers only accessible by helicopter. On your return, enjoy the retreat’s fine dining. This takes advantage of the region’s first-rate produce to create mouth-watering dishes featuring foraged sea vegetables and the freshest seafood.
As well as the purpose-built restaurant and cabins, Nimmo Bay has wellness treatment spaces which include a yoga studio and outdoor hot tubs. Experienced practitioners are on hand to provide therapeutic treatments, from Ayurvedic head massages to Shiatsu sessions.
There are five individual ‘intertidal’ cabins situated on a wooden jetty on the waterline. In addition, there are also two forest cabins situated beside a waterfall and stream. Both cabin types are approximately 65m2 and have idyllic views of the surrounding landscapes. They each comprise two double bedrooms, a lounge area with well-stocked complimentary snacks and an outdoor terrace. Specific cabins can be booked on request.
