Local attractions include the impressive Gateway of India, modelled on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the beautiful Pherozshah Mehta Gardens, the Church Gate, one of the three entrances to the centuries old Bombay castle where you can also find Flora Fountain, Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus, and the Haji Ali Mosque. This mausoleum, built in memory of the muslim saint, Haji Ali, is out at sea but during low tide, you can reach it on foot by a narrow causeway. Plus, there’s the famous Crawford market.
The hotel has 214 Rooms and 73 Suites. All rooms feature dark oak wood floors, walnut furniture, hand tufted rugs and commissioned oil paintings. It’s a 9 hour flight to Mumbai, followed by a 45 minute transfer to the Oberoi.
