The Post Hotel and Spa in Lake Louise is an excellent winter ski and summer hiking base. It is located in the hamlet of Lake Louise in Banff National Park. It is just six minutes by road from three ski lifts. The hotel is also immediately opposite a visitor centre, putting the rest of town within strolling distance.
The Post Hotel and Spa is based around a 1940s structure hand-built using locally-sourced logs. The hotel therefore has a timeless quality to its interior spaces, especially its lounge library. However, modern additions, including large windows in the fine dining restaurant, ensure the Post Hotel & Spa is not outdated.
Many guests choose the Post Hotel and Spa for its prime location. It allows them to undertake a full gambit of activities whatever the season. These range from heli-skiing, snow mobile and dog-sledding tours, to hiking and use of the hotel’s hybrid bikes.
However, the Post Hotel’s apres-ski scene is equally attractive. The Temple Mountain Spa provides a sanctuary of treatment rooms. Its menu includes delights such as Thai stem massage, thermal mud body treatments and salt scrubs.
Additional amenities include an indoor salt water pool, hot tub and steam room. They connect to a fitness centre containing exercise machines, strength training equipment and free weights. Meanwhile, the elegant restaurant prioritises guests for reservations. Its team of European trained chefs use the very best Canadian produce to create menus which sing. Plates can be teamed with wines from the 25,000 bottle cellar.
The best rooms are located on the east side of the hotel, overlooking its back lawn and cabins. There are 60 rooms between 27 and 35.5m2. They feature bathrooms with whirlpool baths as standard. Suites start at 57.5m2. There are also three separate one bedroom cabins, and a two bed 121m2 cabin, alongside the 279m2 riverside Watson House.
