About

Canada’s multi award-winning Rocky Mountaineer is one of the world’s most luxurious trains. Its diesel-powered engines pass through glorious west coast mountain scenery, often where roads have never been laid. Operating seasonally from April until October, it combines the stunning landscapes of the Rockies with service levels not normally experienced on a train.

Passengers have the choice of four diverse rail routes, each of which can be considered as all-inclusive Canada holidays. The newest connects the pristine vistas between Moab and Denver across the border in the US. However, the Rocky Mountaineer’s most celebrated journeys start or end in Canada’s bustling Pacific coast city of Vancouver. Connecting it with either Banff or Jasper via Kamloops or Whistler, it takes in some of the region’s finest panoramas.

Breakfast, lunch and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are included. Regionally-inspired cuisine with wine pairings comes as standard. Meals are served to passengers in their seat for SilverLeaf ticket holders and in a dedicated dining car in GoldLeaf. Premium GoldLeaf class cars seat a maximum of 72 passengers on the upper level of purpose-built bi-level carriages. SilverLeaf carriages are single-level. Both SilverLeaf and GoldLeaf classes have open-air viewing platforms to avoid photographs being ruined by reflections off glass.

An all-daylight train, passengers alight the Rocky Mountaineer each evening to stay in hotels en route (included as part of the cost). Nonetheless, Rocky Mountaineer provides much more than a standard rail service. For example, its carriages have large picture windows, which wrap around the roof for uninterrupted views. Its reclining seats have plenty of legroom and at-seat hospitality like on an airline. Similarly, luggage is stored securely in a separate baggage car and is delivered directly to overnight accommodation.
