The Residence is set on the Belle Mare beachfront, in lush tropical gardens, on the island’s spectacular east coast. This charming and popular hotel is characterised by a relaxed and colonial feel, conveying a bygone era, yet incorporating modern touches for ultimate luxury.
There are 163 rooms and suites, some just a few steps away from the kilometre-long beach of powdery white sand. The rooms all come with their very own private butler service and are elegantly furnished with neutral colour schemes and honey coloured woods. The colonial garden and ocean view rooms have stunning marble bathrooms and luxurious walk-in closets. The junior and senior suites offer elegant dark wood living areas and can interconnect with colonial garden and ocean view rooms. The final touch to the idyllic and relaxed atmosphere of The Residence is the few drops of Ylang Ylang that are delicately placed on ceramic rings warmed by the bedside lamps, a personal touch that epitomises opulence.
The Residence offers numerous activities in and on the water as well as plenty of action on dry land.
The Residence luxury accommodation comprises 135 rooms and 28 suites. Each has a private balcony or terrace and some interconnecting rooms are available, making them ideal for families. There are seven categories of room or suite, all beautifully decorated and with king or twin beds, air conditioning, a desk with living area, 32″ flat screen TV, DVD/CD player, internet access and a private bar. A butler is assigned to each suite and room and will unpack and pack the luggage, run a bath, take care of the laundry and provide an ironing service.
It is just over an hour taxi transfer north up the coast to the Residence from Mauritius International Airport.
