The best time to visit Chiang Rai is between October and April. The monsoon season traditionally begins in May and lasts through to October, with July to September usually being the time of heaviest rain. The hottest month is April, when temperatures can hit the 40s.
The cooler months of November to January would be the best time to travel if you don’t like the heat, with the average day time temperature being up to 30°C.
