Situated on the east coast of the Malaysia peninsular, Kuala Terengganu is the capital city of the state of Terengganu.
This beautiful east coastline has memorable views of many stunningly beautiful islands that sparkle like gems in the South China Sea. Most are protected by Marine Parks and offer truly exceptional diving and snorkelling opportunities which, if you’re staying at our only featured resort on the east coast – Tanjong Jara – can easily be arranged. That’s if you can drag yourself away from the resort’s award-winning spa village!
Terengganu is generally fairly hot and humid all year round, ranging from 22ºC to 32ºC in daytime and slightly cooler after sunset However, the sea breeze from South China Sea moderates the humidity.
The best time to visit is during the (relatively) dry season from February to October.
Terengganu receives heavy rainfall when the north-east monsoon blows between November and January. Some areas suffer flooding at this time of year and it is inadvisable to visit any of the offshore islands as sea can be very rough. However, you can still expect clear sunny days during the monsoon season, and the east coast always has a cooling wind.
