The Formentor is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, sloping down to the famously gorgeous sandy beach and the warm, clear Mediterranean. Since Grace Kelly and Prince Ranier honeymooned here, the hotel has been regarded as the most elegant hotel on the island, but it’s even more popular today with both adults and families. There’s no kids’ club so better for families with slightly older children. The season runs from March through to October.
On a more luxurious and sophisticated level, there’s also 5* Jumeirah Port de Soller. The hotel’s children’s club ‘Barbaroja’s’ for children aged 3 – 12 years is located close to the spa (the first two hours are complementary then a local charge is applied). It is a large bright and airy space with a good variety of toys, games and equipment for all ages. Children’s menus and early children’s meals available on request through room service. Family accommodation works best in the interconnecting rooms or the deluxe rooms at the bottom of the resort which have a bedroom and separate living area. Early booking is recommended to secure these room types as there are only a few of them.
On a similar level of luxury and refinement, and also overlooking the sea, St Regis Mardavall Resort & Spa has a fabulous kids’ club in the expansive grounds with two shaded pools, an enormous sandpit and an indoor play area. The club is free for 3 to 12 year olds and is open daily from 10.00 – 18.00. The hotel also has excellent family accommodation and a great family restaurant. Especially designed for guests under 12 years, your girls will love the spa for manicures, pedicures, face washes, massages, grooming or relaxing!
A holiday at Esplendido ensures that there will always be lots of other children for your’s to play with. Staff are very welcoming to all ages and facilities include a kids’ menu, a children’s pool, baby equipment, beach and pool toys, even tailored spa treatments (manicures, pedicures etc). The proximity of the beach is ideal, as are the numerous ice-cream shops. And the kids will love the tram to Soller!
