Originally a traditional finca, La Residencia has developed in to a much larger resort, cleverly spread out over lots of different levels, with numerous quiet spaces for sunbathing and lounging in the perfectly manicured grounds. It’s a charming and special counry retreat.
As you would expect from a Belmond hotel, the service is excellent. Staff are attentive, the food delicious (particularly the lunch buffet crammed with fresh seafood) and the décor exquisite. The hotel even has its own art curator who takes care of the incredible collection of artworks that are dotted around the hotel.
There are 67 rooms and suites to choose from, each different from one another. They are all spacious with high beamed ceilings. Junior suites feature a balcony, terrace or small private garden while the suites offer the luxury of a private plunge pool. The rooms and suites are adorned with local antiques and art work giving them a cultured feel. The hotel also has a 3 bedroom villa with a living area with open fire, fully equipped kitchen and dining room and a private heated swimming pool.
La Residencia is located in the foothills of the Serra Tramuntana mountains, on Mallorca’s breathtaking north-west coast. It’s a 2.5 hour flight from London to Palma. La Residencia is located a 40 minute drive from Palma airport.
