With panoramic winding roads and the famous Sella Ronda circuit, road cyclists can clock up some impressive mileage while enjoying the spectacular scenery in the Dolomites and stopping off to enjoy the appetising local Italian cuisine.
This is definitely where you can experience some of the greatest cycling routes in the Alps with dramatic ascents and descents and hairpin bends to whizz round. While the primary roads of the Dolomites offer the famous passes which have been the scene to epic battles in the Giro d’Italia, the secondary roads provide cyclists with amazing scenic routes with little to no traffic – a truly exhilarating experience.
The road-cycling hub is the Corvara area of the Val Badia. Several small villages tend to provide the most to offer the visiting cyclist including La Villa, San Cassiano and of course Corvara itself; all of which have some fantastic hotels.
