This part of the world just has to be one of the best places on earth to go snorkelling!
If you choose to stay at Six Senses Yao Noi, jump on one of the speed boats taking guests out scuba diving around Koh Phi Phi or Krabbi and slip into the crystal clear waters to marvel at colourful coral and brilliant tropical fish. Half the fun is the boat ride! Or, nearer to base, there are tons of great little spots to swim and snorkel.
If you’re staying at Banyan Tree Phuket or the boutique spa resort at Trisara you can snorkel along the local beaches or arrange for a boat to take you out to the islands nearby. If you’re at Amanpuri you can take advantage of their private fleet of cruisers and yachts to explore numerous outstanding snorkelling locations.
Other suggestions for luxury beach resorts in Thailand
If you want to stick to island life, then the best other option for you would be Koh Samui off the east coast. We recommend three lovely spa resorts here. Also on the east coast, further north towards Bangkok, is the fabulous resort spa of Chiva Som in the long established royal resort area known as Hua Hin. On the eastern side of the Gulf of Thailand, near the Cambodian border, stay at Soneva Kiri on the remote island of Koh Kood for the ultimate in barefoot luxury. The Sarojin close to the amazing Similan Islands (fabulous for snorkelling and scuba diving) on the west coast is a terrific spa resort.
