Phuket, pronounced (roughly) “pu-ged”, is Thailand’s largest island with lots of gorgeous beaches.
It’s 48km long and 21km wide at its widest point and is in Southern Thailand, on the west-facing Andaman Sea coastline, suspended from the southern tip of Phang Nga Province by a pair of short but substantial road bridges.

Due to its proximity to the equator there is little variation in temperatures throughout the year with an average annual high of 32°C and a low of 24°C. Phuket has a dry season that runs from December through to March and a wet season that covers the other eight months.
