Our April Round-Up

April flew! We’ve been putting together some great trips and also doing a fair bit of travelling and exploring ourselves.

I headed to Tenerife with my family to spend time at our top selling hotels there. We stayed at las Terrazas de Abama, where I took my first Padel tennis lesson – enormous fun with Joachim the fantastic coach. We dined at The Ritz Carlton Abama’s beautiful cliff-edge Mirador as well as the stylish Txoko restaurants. We moved down the coast to stay for a few nights at Baobab Suites – lovely contemporary suites, most with private pool with a really compelling add-on being the fantastic Activate sports club and its Pilates, fitness, yoga, tennis and Padel facilities. I also spent an afternoon visiting the stunning Bahia del Duque, which is such a favourite for families. Baobab and Bahia del Duque are brilliantly situated for exploring the Duque beach and pretty promenade with its lovely range of boutiques and restaurants.

This month Esther and Leanne have been to Greece and spent quality time at one of our favourite wellness hotels, Euphoria. This resort is truly amazing, excellent food and fabulous treatments as well as excellent classes including yoga and pilates and they also offer fitness and detox packages to help you regain yourself again. The girls also stayed at the Romanos and Westin, two excellent family choices. Located next to each other, the hotels offer a large selection of shared facilities and restaurants, and are located on a gorgeous stretch of beach. The Westin has a fantastic kids club, water park and kids activities, whereas the spa at the Romanos is fantastic for some relaxing time. 10 km from the two hotels is the newly opened adult focused (12 years and older) W hotel, located close to small towns Pylos and Gialova which offer some dining outside the hotel. Stunningly laid out and very contemporary, this hotel is a must for those who like a trendy vibe. Flights into Kalamata aren’t daily and these hotels are easy to combine with a night in Athens, only 3.5 hours away. There are quaint towns to visit on the drive, and also vineyards. They stayed at the 5* Electra Metropolis, only 10min walk from the Acropolis which they visited, along with the oldest part of town, Plaka.

The bookings people have been making with us this month have been super varied from almost immediate departures, through to extensive tours for 2024. We’ve helped solo travellers find their perfect place to detox in Spain (Shanti Som), play golf in Dubai and enjoy Pilates in Thailand (Absolute Sanctuary). We’ve helped couples find a place for detox, rest and recharge in Portugal by the beach (Longevity Vilalara and Pine Cliffs) and others find a beautiful spot for some spa and culture in Crete (Elounda Peninsula) . We’ve also assisted families with their summer holidays and have been making the most of the stunning current offer (25% off!) at Forte Village as well as getting them booked into the beautiful IKOS resorts (Olivia, Greece).

Further afield, Mexico has also been popular with clients this month who are looking to combine beautiful beach with Mayan culture and Palmaia and Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita continue to be top choices. Canada has definitely had a boost in popularity thanks to the BBC’s ‘Race Across the World’ and we’re loving planning ahead to 2024 for many clients now keen to explore the country themselves. Australia and New Zealand are also featuring heavily on the 2024 wish lists!
