Located in a mature coconut grove fronting a beautiful crescent-shaped beach, Amanwella is a seaside resort offering 30 contemporary suites, each with private plunge pool and terrace.
Set beside an inviting sweep of golden sands, near Tangalle, Amanwella is a luxury boutique hotel that’s a delightful capsule of contemporary cool. Space, views and comfort all come in lavish abundance, and the beach and jungle-edged villages nearby offer plenty of reasons to slip off the sunbed and set out to explore.
You can go swimming and snorkelling just off the beach but the hotel also offers a range of nature walks including visits to the local village to view the diverse wildlife along the way including monkeys, birds, mouse deer, monitor lizards, hares and mongooses. Other attractions include the Mulgirigala Rock Temple, Bundala National Park, Uda Walawe National Park, Yala National Park and the Rekawa Turtle Conservation Project. You can go whale watching from December to April.
Spa Treatments at Amanwella are available in the privacy of guests’ suites, in the Spa Suite or in selected garden locations amidst the coconut grove. The spa menu includes facials, massages and body treatments.
With views of coconut groves or the ocean, the Suites have a combined sleeping and living room that features a king-size bed, writing desk, armchair and a credenza with minibar. Sliding screens divide this and the bathroom, which has a free-standing bathtub, shower, twin vanities and dressing area. Outdoor spaces include a private walled-in courtyard with a plunge pool and banquette, and the terrace with a dining table for two and a double sunlounge. Terrazzo floors are finished in muted, sandy tones that reflect the beach setting. Three Suites share a connecting door on the terrace, making them ideal for families or couples travelling together.
