Hacienda Chichen, dating back as early as 1523, is among the oldest colonial buildings in Mexico, and is now an eco-spa resort surrounded by acres of subtropical forest that is home to over 150 species of birds. An ideal base for exploring Chichén Itzá.
The hacienda has just 12 hotel cottages housing a total of 28 guest rooms and each cottage offers from one to four bedrooms, all simply and uniquely decorated with Mayan crafts and Spanish Colonial accents. Each has a spacious patio terrace overlooking the lush jungle gardens and attractive front porch terraces are decorated with rocking chairs, Yucatan hammocks and pot plants.
The hacienda is so close to the Chichén Itzá ruins, the most extensively restored Mayan site in the area, that it has its own private garden entrance. Perfect for getting ahead of the crowds! During your stay here, there are a wealth of other activities to consider, such as bird watching, exploring the amazing cenotes and visiting a variety of small colonial towns in the area.
