Hide Out Lodge & Guest Ranch gives guests an authentic insight into the American west and its way of life. It is situated among the almost surreal plains and mountains of Wyoming. However, it is also close to Yellowstone National Park and the city of Cody – founded by Buffalo Bill.
There should therefore be little surprise that this seasonal stay is set within a 100 year old working ranch. That said, the grand log-built main lodge is the epitome of modern cowboy cool. Shared spaces include a light-filled double height dining room featuring antler chandeliers and taxidermy animal heads. While still log-made, guest accommodation is softened by the presence of woven fabrics and modern comforts.
Hide Out Lodge is surrounded by kilometre after kilometre of wondrous landscapes where no two days are the same. One day you might decide to improve (or even discover) your horsemanship skills. Another you might join the lodge team in rounding up a head of cattle. After all, there is more than 2,600 square kilometres of land to explore.
Should you need a break from the saddle, the lodge also offers fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking and shooting opportunities. Facilities at Hide Out Lodge include an 18 metre heated outdoor lap pool with views of the Big Horn Mountains.
Accommodation at Hide Out Lodge consists of cabins, casitas and a ‘home’. There are five duplex cabins featuring air conditioning, heating, complimentarily-stocked mini-fridge and views of Shell Canyon. Four casitas are found in a single log structure with individual porches overlooking the canyon and orchard. They comprise one and two bedroom units. Finally, the home is a three suite structure with two master suites and a guest suite. The home contains a fully-equipped kitchen, large open-plan living area with real fireplace and private deck spaces.
