It’s then on to your villa, one of only 16, where will enjoy far reaching views of the valley below.  Timelessness is centre to the Karkloof experience so feel free to do as little or as much as you like while you are here.  Most guests take the chance to freshen up in their villa before walking along the boardwalks to the safari lodge for refreshments beside the pool or in the library.  Alternatively, you may decide to head straight to the Thai-inspired spa for a blissful massage in order to start feeling fully restored and pampered after your flight.  A dip in the hydro-therapy pool or a lounge in the steam room or sauna may be just what you need before heading to lunch at either the Spa Café or back in the lodge.  Karkloof’s personalised approach to meals ensures that everyone is happy.

You are also free to dine where and whenever you wish.  How about a picnic in the reserve watching the animals or dinner in your villa? Perhaps pre-dinner canapés in the library before dining in the lodge?  As regards your days at Karkloof, your schedule is entirely up to you. Whether you would like a game drive as the sun rises, mountain biking after breakfast, a guided walk in the afternoon or some fly fishing in the evening or, if you would rather spend the entire day in the spa, you can!  Guests can also enjoy Yoga classes, Muay Thai boxing and Tai Chi classes.

There is lots to keep you active and enthralled at Karkloof but it’s also a wonderful place to just relax and simply do nothing at all.  One thing is for sure, by the time it comes to leave, you will feel like you have been away from the real world for ages.

Karkloof Safari Spa is open all year round. The climate is subtropical with hot, humid, wet summers (September to April) and warm to cool, dry winters (May to August).
