Paxos is a delightful, laid-back little island – about 8 miles long and 3 miles wide – and small enough that a walking enthusiast could explore virtually the whole island in a week.
The population of Paxos is about 2,300 permanent residents, living in Gaios, Loggos, Lakka, and a scattering of tiny hamlets. The island is still blissfully unspoilt and covered in olive and pine trees, it attracts people who come to unwind, to get away from it all.

Paxos is “open for business” from Easter until October, but for better taverna service and moderate weather, mid-May to late June, and the last two-thirds of September, are arguably the best times. During July and August the weather is at its warmest.
