Family Holidays in the Algarve

Martinhal Beach Resort:  One of the great attractions of the resort is that it offers a huge range of activities for both adults and children.  Club 98 is the lively, sporty meeting point for guests with its own swimming pool, bar, three tennis courts and two glass sided paddle tennis courts.  The Club’s also the place where you go to book lessons for a range of land and water based sports, including mountain biking, horse riding, surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, snorkelling and scuba diving.

The resort features two distinct children’s areas. A fully staffed crèche for the wee ones and the ‘Blue Room’ for pre-teens and teens to hang out together and play a range of games from table tennis and table football to computer games on Wii’s and Play Stations.

Pine Cliffs:  Resort facilities for children include a children’s pool, 18 hole mini crazy golf course, bouncy castle, basketball, games room and the children’s club catering for children aged 4 months to 13 years.  Pine Cliffs is a well established firm favourite for families that does not disappoint.  It’s not as stylish or as sophisticated as the new kid on the block – Martinhal Beach Resort – and is therefore priced accordingly.

Vila Vita Parc: set in over 50 acres of magnificent gardens, the Moorish inspired architecture of this excellent 5 star family resort, offers first class accommodation, several swimming pools and, best of all, one of the Algarve’s most beautiful and secluded beaches.  There’s a large playground and, for the very little ones, a creche.  For those that like to be active, there’s horse riding, mountain biking, tennis, golf, water sports and a gym.  Plus, of course, a spa.  Uniquely amongst the Algarve’s family resorts, Vila Vita Parc also has a 2 star Michelin restaurant.
