If you and your family would like to include some surfing during your holiday to the Algarve, it’s perfectly possible to do so.
Two of our featured resorts, Martinhal Beach Resort and Pine Cliffs are both ideally located for fun times in the surf. Whilst not as good as the western seaboard of Portugal where the Atlantic waves have a direct roll in to the shore, the southern strip of the Algarve still provides lots of surfing entertainment.
Martinhal Beach Resort is probably the best option for families with older children, whilst Pine Cliffs (with its excellent kids club) is brilliant for younger kids.
Not too much further south, you might like to also consider staying at Paradis Plage on the wild Morocco coast, about 40 minutes north of Agadir. The surfing is excellent and the on-site instructors can teach anyone from the age of 8 upwards. It’s also exceptionally good value.
