Khanom is a small country town on the western side of the Gulf of Thailand. The closest airport, Surat Thani, is a 90 minute drive away. Koh Samui, Krabi and Phuket are also easily accessible with transfer times of 3 hours, 2 1/2 hours and 4 hours respectively.

Hot and sunny almost all year round temperatures are steady in the mid to high twenties for much of the year, nudging up above the 30°C mark between April and August. As it is in the tropics it is suceptible to short, sharp rain storms, however these rarely last more than 20 minutes and are most frequent in October and November.
