Whilst the wide sweeping expanse of Göcek bay offers plenty of opportunity of snorkelling around, and you can simply follow the coastline from our recommended place to stay here. It’s ideal for beginners, but there’s not a great deal to see unless you’re lucky enough to come across one of the turtles that live in the bay. We think that the best bet is to hitch a ride on one of the areas many scuba diving boats and jump in to the warm clear waters around the numerous dive sites.
A day trip on a dive boat for snorkelers is around €15, including lunch. You can also relax on the boat’s sun deck and catch up on your tan.
Göcek experiences an average of 300 days of sunshine annually. During the summer months temperatures range between 35°C and 40°C during the day and no lower than 27°C at night, and the sea is lovely and warm.
