Six Senses Douro Valley, formerly a 19th century manor house, has been beautifully converted into a contemporary, luxury hotel with a fantastic spa and a selection of rejuvenating wellness retreats. Six Senses Douro Valley lies in a very picturesque bend in the beautiful Douro valley nestled amidst vineyards and overlooking the river, in the heart of a UNESCO world heritage site. The Douro region is rich in culture, tradition and gastronomy, and famous for its wine and port making.
There are up to six activities each day ranging from a morning 5km run through to yoga, pilates, garden tours, Tibetan Bowl relaxation, TRX, mountain biking and then with wine-tasting options each evening.
There are 50 rooms and suites, many with panoramic windows offering spectacular views of the river or surrounding countryside. Spa rooms are designed for ultimate relaxation with a private plunge pool and panoramic views over the woods. All rooms and suites have luxurious bathrooms with spacious showers and extra large bathtubs and are all well equipped with mini-bar, air conditioning, telephone, LCD TV and WiFi. There are also 21 villas all of which have shared or private plunge pool.
