Shreyas wellness retreat provides a blissful combination of authentic yoga with modern luxury. It’s a beautiful, calming oasis – lush gardens set around a vast serene pool with a stunning open yoga shala. Step inside Shreyas, and immediately you notice the peaceful environment created by the genuinely kind, smiling and humble staff who provide such attentive yet unobtrusive service. The wellness retreat offers eight tented suites spread throughout the expansive gardens – luxury mini bungalows, each with their own front terrace, garden, large bedroom space and tropical-feel wet room bathroom. The three pool suites are closer to the restaurant and a step away from the pool and its high comfort sunbeds.
Yoga is expertly taught with grace and spirituality (if wanted) – and you can enjoy one on ones, group classes, and early birds can join the staff for their morning meditations. The small spa offers delicious ayurvedic wellness treatments which heighten your blissed out state. Wellness retreat programmes include Ayurvedic rejuvenation, yoga, detox, weight management, Panchakarma, silent retreats, and more.
Food & Drink
Food at Shreyas is delicious and vegetarian, lovingly prepared by Chef Rami. His authentic light local dishes are to die for. We actually think western food is out of place here – but he’s keen to show his flair for other cuisines as well, and so you can choose western cuisine if you’d prefer. Don’t expect any flexibility on the no meat or no alcohol policy though as they are strictly off limits… but do take time to enjoy a cooking class with Rami, who’ll generously share tips and recipes you can recreate at home.
Gourmet vegetarian meals with flavours from India, Southern Suerope and the Orient are served at specific times in the dining hall, or al fresco in the lawns. They are carefully planned to complement the lifestyle you will be experiencing at the retreat. As much produce as possible is grown on the premises. The chefs will also happily cater to any dietary specifications or restrictions guests may have (wheat free/vegan/ dairy free/low calorie etc).
Spa
The Rejuvenation Spa & Massage Centre at Shreyas perfectly compliments the yoga and relaxation that you will be experiencing whilst on your retreat. With a good selection of massages and body scrubs and masks to choose from, you can also benefit from steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and swimming pool.
Children
Extra beds can be provided for children up to 8 years of age. Due to the peaceful nature of this retreat, it is not ideal for boisterous children who may find it a little quiet! No babysitting services are available.
Highs
- The serenity of the place combined with the warmth of the staff
- Opportunity for a full immersion into yoga with excellent local teaching
- Jugs of chilled coconut water served to you on your cushioned bed by the pool
- Fabulous new spa
Lows
- If you’re a gym bunny, you’ll find the gym somewhat minimal, but then Shreyas isn’t about sweaty cardio workouts
- The garden perimeter is close to a railway line, so if you’re a very light sleeper go for a pool suite or request one of the inner garden suites
Healthy Traveller Tip
Immerse yourself fully in the spirit of Shreyas by helping farm in the organic garden, join the chefs cooking and then join the Shreyas team serving food to the local village children.
